Kenna Beban is a Brooklyn-based photographer and journalist, originally from the Bay Area, CA. She studied Journalism and Environmental Studies at NYU, and her photos and writing have been published in Brooklyn Magazine, Punch Drink, and BK Reader. Her work is informed by her upbringing as the child of two scientists, leading with curiosity and open-mindedness.
She graduated from the Documentary Practices and Visual Journalism program at the International Center of Photography in 2025. There, her work focused on ritual and responsibility among Catholic youth in Queens, and the loss of funding for refugee resettlement programs in Ohio. Currently, she works as a companion caregiver for patients living with Alzheimer’s disease while doing freelance photography. She speaks conversational Spanish and is available for assignments.
